The most valuable solution
To combat this, we implemented Liveness with a third-party SDK for identity verification. Our user will need make facial recognition to access functions involving all payment methods.
Investigating the problem
A constant challenge in our app is making it safe for users. We have been dealing with numerous fraud incidents that have negatively affected the experience of 7 millions users.
We are continuously improving the app, implementing more advanced payment methods, and taking measures to prevent hackers from exploiting vulnerabilities.
Being a safety app means to leave aside the experience?
Definitely not! We know well that security is also a key to creating a great experience, a successful product, and building trust with our users. Keeping this in mind, the very first step in this project was a complete a user journey because we needed to understand the pain points, user actions, expectations, experience, and how our users would feel during the process.

Mapping the end-to-end user experience
After building the user journey, it was possible to break down the major stages and create a Blueprint framework. I, in particular, love to work with it because it allows involving the different areas and squads of the project, due to the great interconnected complexity between them. As a result, it was possible to map user cases, errors, APIs, and refine the entire experience. In addition, this framework helped the development team a lot with documentation.

The most expected results
After creating a user flow in Figma with a large number of user cases and the development team deployed it to the app, we could see how amazing the impact of making our app trusted and secure is.

Seeing these results, we ensured a secure process with a great experience. Our fraud simply reduced to zero, and the users did not experience any friction throughout the liveness journey.
